Computer Requirements
Starting Fall Semester 2020, all incoming freshmen will be required to have their own personal portable computer. Please find your major below and make sure that you have at least the device required by your program.
NOTE: Any student, regardless of their major, that is planning to take ENGR 13585: Computer Aided Engineering Graphics, will be required to have a computer that meets the requirements for the engineering and engineering technology majors.
Computer requirements are listed by major/minor below. Please find your major/minor to ensure that your computer satisfies the requirements.
Aeronautics Majors
B.S., Professional Pilot
- Required: Beginning Fall 2022, all students will be required to have an iPad as part of their flight training within the Professional Pilot Concentration.
- There is not a specific iPad generation we recommend, as long as it can support:
- The latest iOS software;
- An additional capacity of at least 30 GBs; and
- Still has respectable battery life.
- Many students will purchase a keyboard for their iPad and use it as their primary device for all their college classes. More information will be communicated as you approach the beginning of your flight training courses.
- There is not a specific iPad generation we recommend, as long as it can support:
B.S., Air Traffic and Airspace Management; Aeronautical Studies; Aviation Management; Unmanned Aircraft Systems Flight Operations
- Required: A portable computer with a keyboard and the ability to run either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox; Many students will purchase an iPad and keyboard to use as their primary device for all their college classes.
M.S., Aviation Management and Logistics

Aeronautics Minors
Aviation Weather, Aircraft Dispatch, Private Pilot, Unmanned Aircraft Systems

Engineering and Engineering Technology Majors
All engineering and engineering technology students will be required to have a laptop that satisfies the requirements in the table below. There are recommendations and requirements listed. The software packages that the College uses are Windows based and do not have versions available for a Mac. As such, Macintosh (Apple) laptops are not recommended due to driver and support incompatibilities. Students arriving with Macintosh (Apple) laptops will not have computer support available.
