Recent graduate and former USG President Chazzlyn Jackson stepped into her passion for social issues while a student at 91²Ö¿â.

When recent Undergraduate Student Government (USG) President Chazzlyn Jackson started her journey at 91²Ö¿â in 2018, she had planned to major in fashion until a mentor with Kupita/Transiciones (K/T) cultural orientation program helped her tap into her leadership abilities and passion for social justice issues. The advice played a pivotal role for Jackson, who stepped into leadership roles and anti-racism advocacy and has not looked back.

Spring graduates Benjamin Wales-McGrath and Jameson Payne

During 91²Ö¿â’s spring 2022 commencement on May 14, Jameson Payne will earn his bachelor’s degree in integrative studies with concentrations in physics and political science. Benjamin Wales-McGrath will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in cellular and molecular biology at the age of 18.

Finally Janes Reinart will become a 91²Ö¿â Golden Flash at the spring commencement on May 14, 2022

After a 21-year absence, Chagrin Falls resident James Reinart will be crossing the stage at 91²Ö¿â’s spring commencement ceremonies on May 14, 2022, to become a Golden Flash alumnus.

Dylan Mace, 91²Ö¿â Student Board Trustee, was recently recognized for his outstanding service.

Leadership roles in the Interfraternity Council and Delta Tau Delta Fraternity served as preparation for Dylan Mace's service on the 91²Ö¿â Board of Trustees when Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine appointed him in July 2020. Mace’s two-year term, in which he served as a member of the Board’s Academic Excellence and Student Success Committee and the Finance and Administration Committee, will expire May 16, 2022.

The 91²Ö¿â Board of Trustees recently approved the naming of the Burton D. Morgan Foundation Entrepreneurship Suite, a space that includes the LaunchNET offices, the Marty Erbaugh i3 Lab and surrounding areas within the Design Innovation (DI) Hub.

Isobel Day, a junior political science major at 91²Ö¿â and Newman Civic Fellow

Taking action in addressing issues of inequality and political polarization, demonstrating motivation and potential for long term civic engagement and engaging with others to create social change are all ways one could be committed to service. These qualities are the requirements for the Newman Civic Fellowship and traits that Isobel Day, Newman Civic Fellow, exemplifies.

CCS and Bursar's Office Partnership

91²Ö¿â’s Career and Community Studies (CCS) program has partnered with the Bursar’s Office to provide opportunities for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to develop professional skills and help them transition into the workforce. Ellie McGregor, a fourth-year student currently in her final semester in the CCS program, has found great success and made solid contributions in the office while honing her business skills. She is an example of what this program can do for students. 

NPR's College Podcast Challenge

National Public Radio (NPR) has whittled down and decided on the college finalists in its College Podcast Challenge. 91²Ö¿â at Ashtabula Human Services Technology associate lecturer and journalism student Joan Steidl is one of ten students from across the country who became finalists.

Meghan Factor-Page is the assistant director of 91²Ö¿â of Well-being where she helps ensure students are getting relevant information so they can take care of themselves and get the wellness resources they need.
