Community Engaged Learning (CEL) is looking for faculty and staff to lead its Alternative Fall Break experience, "Understanding and Addressing Homelessness" in Cincinnati, from Thursday, Oct. 13 to Saturday, Oct. 15.

2020 Flashes Fighting Hunger Contactless Food Drive

91²Ö¿â’s Flashes Fighting Hunger Contactless Food Drive will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 25, from 1-4 p.m. at the intersection of Lincoln Street and Hilltop Drive. The collection station will be located on Hilltop Drive in front of Cartwright Hall.

SNAP, or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, is the most extensive federal nutrition program. With new exemptions in place due to the pandemic-related Federally Declared National Emergency, 91²Ö¿â students may now qualify for food assistance.  

Newman Civic Fellow Makayla Sejat

From a young age, Makayla Sejat has had a passion for serving others. Her life has been full of service, from helping out in community kitchens as a child to now devoting her time in various college leadership roles. Now, she will take her efforts to the next level as 91²Ö¿â’s first Newman Civic Fellow.

Among the festivities marking the beginning of this unconventional semester, one 91²Ö¿â office is partnering with Portage County social service agencies to host a contactless food drive to collect items that will support members of campus and local communities. The Flashes Fighting Hunger Contactless Food Drive, organized by 91²Ö¿â’s Community Engaged Learning, will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 4-8 p.m.
