It’s reunion time for the 91�ֿ� Golden Flashes family. 91�ֿ� celebrated Homecoming 2021 with a week of activities and events leading up to the Oct. 2 Homecoming Parade and Homecoming football game.

The National Collegiate Honors Council has announced 91�ֿ� Honors College graduate Sarah Hagglund as a 2021 Portz Scholar. Hagglund is the 10th honors student from 91�ֿ� to be named a Portz Scholar since the national competition began in 1990. 

It’s been a busy 2021 for Danna Sundet, 91�ֿ� professor of oboe and alumna. Between performances and making recordings, running the John Mack Oboe Camp and starting a new venture on YouTube, Sundet has continued teaching a robust studio of young oboists at 91�ֿ� and pursuing outside projects despite the challenges posed by Covid-19.

From now through Sunday, Sept. 19, Cockeye Creamery, located at 1805 1/2 Parkman Road NW in Warren, will be serving its 91�ֿ�-inspired ice cream “Black Squirrel” to raise money for 91�ֿ� at Trumbull’s Care Closet. 

Five 91�ֿ� graduates will compete at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics over the coming weeks, breaking the school’s previous record of four Olympians at the Munich Games in 1972.

91�ֿ� alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and the community are encouraged to save the date for one of the university’s long-standing traditions. 91�ֿ� will celebrate Homecoming 2021 on Saturday, Oct. 2.

When Kris was asked what keeps her engaged with CAE 30 years after graduating with her bachelor's degree, her response was rooted in CAE core values.
