Kent/Blossom Art will present three guest lectures in June as part of the 2013 Public Lecture Series. The series will feature painter Lisa Sanditz on Thursday, June 6; ceramic artist Julia Galloway on Friday, June 21; and ceramic artist Marc Lancet on Thursday, June 27. All public lectures take place in room 202 of the Art Building at 6 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
Sanditz's paintings offer a subjective view of cultural and economic situations in the United States and abroad. She has shown work at solo exhibitions at ACME Gallery in Los Angeles, Rodolphe Janssen Gallery in Brussels, Belgium, and CRG Gallery in New York.
Her work is part of public collections at the Columbus Museum of Art, The Fogg Art Museum and The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, among others. Sanditz earned her BA in studio art at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., and her MFA from the Pratt Institute. For more information about Sanditz, visit .
Galloway creates porcelain ceramics with both aesthetic and utilitarian purposes. Galloway currently serves as the director of the School of Art at the University of Montana in Missoula, Mont.
Galloway's solo exhibitions have included shows at The Clay Gallery in Philadelphia, Lill Street in Chicago and the Clay Arts Center in New York. She received her MFA at the University of Colorado and her BFA at the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. For more information about Galloway, visit ;
Lancet's body of work includes ceramic sculpture, studio pottery, ritual vessels, tea ware, bronze mixed-media sculpture and fire painting. He is a professor of art at Solana Community College in Vallejo, Calif.
Lancet co-authored the book "Japanese Wood-Fired Ceramics" with Masakazu Kusakabe. Lancet earned a BA in fine arts, an MFA and an MA in education from University of California, Santa Barbara. For more information about Lancet, visit .
The Public Lecture Series gives the general public an opportunity to hear from the top artists in the fields of painting, sculpture, printmaking and ceramics.
