The 20th anniversary of FlashFest took place Thursday, April 24, at 3 p.m. on the Student Green. This annual 91²Ö¿â tradition featured live performances, food, games and prizes.

Four artists performed at this year’s FlashFest, headlined by Capital Cities along with Ab-Soul, Scavenger Hunt, and Evan Evolution and Dominic Parisi. The performances  began at 4 p.m. on the Student Green.

“FlashFest is an end-of-the-semester celebration bringing together our student community for a relaxing afternoon before finals,†said Donna Carlton, special coordinator for enrollment management and student affairs at 91²Ö¿â.

This year is the first time that the performances were held on the Student Green, Carlton said.

FlashFest also served as the platform to announce this year’s grand prize winners for FLASHperks, the student rewards program. This year, FLASHperks awarded free tuition for a year, free pizza from Domino’s for one year and a free mountain bike from Portage Cyclery.

FlashFest is part of the 2014 Campus Consciousness Tour. Half music tour, half environmental campaign, the Campus Consciousness Tour aims to inspire and activate students in an electric atmosphere while leaving a positive impact on each community the tour visits. In addition to educating and mobilizing students, the tour is run to have a minimal environmental footprint.
