91²Ö¿â Presidential Speaker Series Presents An Evening With Nobel Peace Prize Winner Elie Wiesel
WHAT:
Nobel Peace Prize winner and Boston University Professor Elie Wiesel will speak at the second 91²Ö¿â Presidential Speaker Series on Thursday, April 11, at 7 p.m., at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center) on the Kent Campus.
Wiesel’s personal experience of the Holocaust led him to use his talents as an author, teacher and storyteller to advocate for human rights and peace in the world. He has worked on behalf of oppressed people much of his adult life. Media are welcome to cover the April 11 event.
Media will have the opportunity to:
- Interview Holocaust survivors and high school student essay winners from 6-6:30 p.m. in the Blue & Gold Room at the MAC Center.
- Cover the speech, which starts promptly at 7 p.m. and concludes at 8 p.m.
- Take photos and video; MEDIA NOTE: Video is limited to the first three minutes of Wiesel’s speech. Still photographers may stay for the duration of the event.
- Get reactions and thoughts from event attendees.

Parking for media who register will be available in the R-11 lot behind the MAC Center. From East Main Street, go south onto Midway Drive past Taylor Hall and the Gym Annex. The lot is located at the end of Midway Drive.
Media should enter the Lobby C entrance of the MAC Center and check in at the media table for credentials. From there, media will be escorted to designated areas for them to cover the event.
Please note that Wiesel is not available for interviews.
