While the 91ֿ at Tuscarawas Makerspace – housed in the Academic Learning Commons (ALC) – offers innovative equipment, instruction and entrepreneurial support to our students, faculty and the community throughout the year, this summer the Makerspace was a dedicated place of fun for the young and the young at heart.
Summer Fun for Kids, Teens and Adults was presented by the 91ֿ Tuscarawas Business and Community Services College for Kids and the ALC/Makerspace, offering exciting events throughout the summer months.
“Many of our faculty and staff volunteered to bring an outstanding program this summer, including Family Craft Days and an end of summer party,” said Maria Feik, Makerspace technician and event coordinator. “We had well over 500 registrations for classes this year, and we had over 150 people come to the End of Summer Fun party.”
The event offered classes with a wide variety of interests, including painting, robotics, first aid, vet tech, basketball skills, paper mâché, and family craft days. The Summer Fun program concluded with an End of Summer Fun Party.
All events were free and open to the community.
Use of Makerspace equipment is free to residents of Tuscarawas County. Materials can be provided at a cost through the Academic Learning Commons or materials may be brought in.
