91²Ö¿â at Tuscarawas Interim Nursing Director Mariann Harding, PhD, RN, CNE, FAADN, was recently appointed to a four-year term as treasurer of the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN) national board.
OADN serves as the national advocate for the over 1,200 associate degree nursing programs across the country with the focus to advance excellence in nursing education and community college pathways into registered nursing careers. OADN is the only organization that advocates for associate degree nursing at the national level by using a collective voice to continue delivering opportunities for nurse educators, as faculty and leaders.
Harding’s responsibilities as treasurer include monitoring the organization’s financial status and reporting on the operating budget and investments. In addition, she will serve as a member of the Executive Committee and Finance Committee.
Harding joined the 91²Ö¿â Tuscarawas Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program in 2005. She has taught in the associate degree and baccalaureate-degree nursing programs, is currently serving as the ADN interim program director and is an active member of the campus community. Harding has co-authored and served as editor of several nursing education textbooks and has published numerous journal articles on nursing education practices, health promotion, and optimizing patient care experiences. She is a regular speaker at nursing events and conferences across the country.
The 91²Ö¿â Tuscarawas ADN program is approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing and prepares students for the registered nurse profession. The curriculum is designed to meet the health care needs of the 21st century and focuses on the registered nurse's role in communities, hospitals, clinics, and home health care. The nursing major includes LPN to ADN and Paramedic to ADN concentrations. Program graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
