Ohio LGBTQ History Revealed: 91²Ö¿â SURE Project Leads to Niche Discovery
Alex Moir is one of many students who participated in the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program in 2023. Alongside mentor Lauren Vachon, the two were determined to investigate Ohio’s LGBTQ history and were led to the story of Georgia Hopley through a tip from an archivist at Ohio History Connection (a non-profit historical society) of a possible undocumented queer romance.

'A Supportive Community Makes It a Lot Easier'
Students coming to 91²Ö¿â and, for some of them, living away from home for the first time can struggle with the transition. The transition can even be more difficult for LGBTQ+ students, particularly for those who have recently "come out." Ken Ditlevson, director of 91²Ö¿â's LGBTQ+ Center, talks about the many resources available at Kent to support them.

Documenting The Queer Pandemic
A 91²Ö¿â researcher is collecting video interviews from the LGBTQ+ community from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
