The 91²Ö¿â Board of Trustees has approved awarding Roe Green, MA ’80, a Doctor of Humane Letters, an honorary degree recognizing her contributions to the university and her advocacy for the arts not only in Northeast Ohio, but also across the nation and around the world.
While a student at 91²Ö¿â, U.S. Rep. Emilia Sykes (D-OH-13) dreamed of taking the stage as a dancer in New York City, not as a congresswoman in Washington, D.C. But today she’s a star in the eyes of many, with her federal legislative debut drawing attention beyond Northeast Ohio.
Omar Salam, founder and creative director of the global fashion house SUKEINA, will be making a special trip from the runway to 91²Ö¿â’s Rockwell Hall as Salam has been named the 2023 inductee of the university’s School of Fashion Hall of Fame.
Slowly, the Kent Campus is seeing its greenery return.
After living in various other locations, 91²Ö¿â staff and faculty make Kent their home because it's a community with small town charm and a flourishing downtown.
President Todd Diacon took the opportunity to make the presentation “91²Ö¿â Works†at the Board of Trustees meeting, which was held at Le Meridien Columbus, The Joseph. The presentation illustrated how 91²Ö¿â prepares its students for job readiness. Chancellor of the Ohio Department of Higher Education Randy Gardner and the new President of the Inter-University Council Laura Lanese attended the Board of Trustees meeting.
"Heads Up! Hats" is one of three exhibits that make up the "" exhibition at the 91²Ö¿â Museum. The other exhibits in the trilogy are "It's a Wrap! Coats" and "Stepping Out! Shoes."
91²Ö¿â will be equipped to offer more financial assistance to students in need thanks to donors to a key area of the university’s ongoing comprehensive fundraising campaign. The Forever Brighter campaign includes a scholarship-support component, Prioritizing Student Success, that now stands at $142 million, surpassing the $100 million goal set at the campaign’s outset in October 2021.
In today’s world, technology is essential, and the demand for technological advancements is ever-growing. 91²Ö¿â is no exception.
Since sports betting became legal in Ohio Jan. 1, 2023, television, social media, billboards and the like have been inundated with these comical ads. And Ohioans over 21 years of age, who can bet conveniently from their phones and at various venues such as casinos and bars, are part of the target audience.
