Macon will serve through May 16, 2027, fulfilling the unexpired term of Johnathan Holifield. Holifield resigned his position as a trustee in late 2022 due to an out-of-state relocation.

Matthew Helmick-Bickel, 29, spent five years in the U.S. Army as an airborne paratrooper stationed at Fort Bragg North Carolina, now known as Fort Liberty, before he enrolled at 91�ֿ� in 2020.

91�ֿ�’s School of Peace and Conflict Studies and School of Communications Studies are collaborating on an event to bring students together to talk about the ongoing Israel-Hamas war in Gaza. 

91�ֿ� invites all to pay tribute to those who have served in the U.S. armed forces and attend the university’s annual Veterans Day Commemoration. The event will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Student Green on the Kent Campus.

“If you come in as an instructor and you really like what you're doing, you enjoy the classroom. You enjoy the class and the students pick up on it,” Jeffrey Osikiewicz, Ph.D., said. “They give it back to you. It goes for every classroom, and it makes for a beautiful experience.” This is his domino effect.

Pratyusha Ghanta’s presentation "Stopping Lung Cancer in its Tracks" earned her third place in 91�ֿ�’s fall 2023 Three Minute Thesis competition.
