The Rev. Larry L. Macon Jr., J.D., has been appointed to the 91²Ö¿â Board of Trustees by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine.

Macon will serve through May 16, 2027, fulfilling the unexpired term of Johnathan Holifield. Holifield resigned his position as a trustee in late 2022 due to an out-of-state relocation.

Senior business major Matthew Helmick-Bickel served in the U.S. Army five years ago.

Matthew Helmick-Bickel, 29, spent five years in the U.S. Army as an airborne paratrooper stationed at Fort Bragg North Carolina, now known as Fort Liberty, before he enrolled at 91²Ö¿â in 2020.

91²Ö¿â invites all to pay tribute to those who have served in the U.S. armed forces and attend the university’s annual Veterans Day Commemoration. The event will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Student Green on the Kent Campus.

“If you come in as an instructor and you really like what you're doing, you enjoy the classroom. You enjoy the class and the students pick up on it,” Jeffrey Osikiewicz, Ph.D., said. “They give it back to you. It goes for every classroom, and it makes for a beautiful experience.” This is his domino effect.
