91²Ö¿â celebrates first-generation faculty and staff.

91²Ö¿â is celebrating its first-generation students this week with a series of events and programs to spotlight and encourage current students who will be the first in their families to earn a bachelor’s degree. As part of the celebration, some faculty and staff who were first-generation students share their stories in their own words.

91²Ö¿â celebrated the journey of first-generation college students and those who have made an impact serving as their mentors and advocates with the “I Am First†awards ceremony on Wednesday. 

Family-Friendly Study Hours

91²Ö¿â’s Center for Adult and Veteran Services offers family-friendly study hours for student parents that offers a trained student volunteer to entertain and supervise children, most Tuesdays from 2-5 p.m. and Wednesdays 4-7 p.m. on the sixth floor of the library.

Student Leadership Consultants Workshop

The 91²Ö¿â Student Leadership Consultants (SLC) hosted a workshop Tuesday, Nov. 8, that showed students how strong leadership can be used to fundamentally change the culture in their student organizations and workplaces.

Student get hands-on experience during the Ashtabula Campus's Flash Medical Center event

After a three-year hiatus, Flash Medical Center returned to 91²Ö¿â at Ashtabula’s Robert S. Morrison Hall for a one-day medical emergency simulation on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022.

John Skrtic, a proud 91²Ö¿â alumnus and Cleveland Public Library’s chief of special projects and collections, enjoys archiving the people and places of Cleveland.

Kathalina Thorpe, a masters student in Theater Design and Technology, presented Earthworms Can and Will Make Changes in Theater.

Kathalina Thorpe's research on using earthworms to compost theater and fashion fabric waste recently won her the 2022 Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, a year after she was selected by audience members for the People’s Choice award during the fall 2021 competition. 

Students Vote On Campus

A handful of students were up early and exercising their right to vote by casting ballots at one of two precincts located at the Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center on the Kent Campus.
