STEM Workshop

91²Ö¿â at Stark recently hosted a hands-on STEM workshop aimed at inspiring young women in mathematics and science. Funded by the Mathematical Association of America’s Tensor Women & Mathematics Grant, the event was part of a larger initiative called the Mathematics Excellence for Girls in STEM program.

A long-term study of butterfly populations in Ohio's Cuyahoga Valley National Park is shedding light on ecological changes and the impacts of human activities on local ecosystems. The study, which has been ongoing since the 1990s, represents one of the longest-running volunteer-driven insect surveys in North America. Experts from 91²Ö¿â’s Department of Biological Sciences are working to interpret 20-plus years’ worth of data and convey what it means for environmental conservation.

Bioblitz 2024

Each spring, students in 91²Ö¿â's Child Development Center look forward to "Bioblitz." It's a day spent in the woods near their center with exploration, discovery and hands-on learning about nature. 

Bee on Kent Campus

A 91²Ö¿â researcher is asking Flashes to "BEE" on the lookout for bees on the Kent Campus. She would like people to capture photos of the bees and then send them to her for use in a research project.
