91²Ö¿â alumna Roe Green admits she’s counting down the days to May 12. That’s the day she’ll both deliver the spring commencement address and receive a special honor after the 91²Ö¿â Board of Trustees approved awarding her a Doctor of Humane Letters, an honorary degree.

Alfreda Brown, Ph.D., was 91²Ö¿â's first vice president for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

When she came to 91²Ö¿â in October 2009, Alfreda Brown Ph.D., made history by becoming the first person ever to lead a university division dedicated completely to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.  

As vice president for the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Brown served as a powerful voice for making sure no one in the university’s wide-reaching system was marginalized, discriminated against or left behind.
