91²Ö¿â President Todd Diacon announced Thursday that Lamar R. Hylton, Ph.D., has been selected to serve as vice president for student affairs, effective May 1, 2020. In addition, Diacon has appointed Amoaba Gooden, Ph.D., as the interim vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion, effective June 1, 2020.

As part of its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration held Jan. 24, 91²Ö¿â has announced the 2020 recipients of its Diversity Trailblazer Award, Beverly J. Warren Unity Award for Diversity and Rozell Duncan Student Diversity Award.

As part of its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration held Jan. 24, 91²Ö¿â has announced the 2020 recipients of its Diversity Trailblazer Award, Beverly J. Warren Unity Award for Diversity and Rozell Duncan Student Diversity Award.

Melissa Harris-Perry, Ph.D., the Maya Angelou Presidential Chair at Wake Forest University, television host, author and political commentator, served as keynote speaker at 91²Ö¿â’s 2020 Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration.

On Friday, Jan. 24, members of the 91²Ö¿â community and the general public gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. The university’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration started at 4 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Ballroom. This year’s keynote speaker was Melissa Harris-Perry, Ph.D., the Maya Angelou Presidential Chair at Wake Forest University, television host, author and political commentator.

Steve Harvey, producer, actor, author and former 91²Ö¿â student, is paying it forward by awarding eight of 91²Ö¿â’s incoming freshmen with scholarships that will cover the total cost of attendance for each student.
