Research Interests:
My research interests, broadly defined, fall into two areas: body image disturbance and eating disorders. I have secondary research interests in non-suicidal self-injury. My interests include the topography and function of binge eating in bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder, the nature of body image disturbance in women and men and its associated consequences, the impact of appearance-focused social comparisons on body image disturbance, and the impact of chronic dieting on the well-being of women. I have a particular interest in the use of ecological momentary assessment as a method to study many of these phenomena in the naturalistic environment.
