Research Interests:
Amy Sato is a pediatric (child-health) psychologist and director of the Pediatric Health and Stress lab. My research focuses primarily on child and adolescent obesity, eating behaviors, and pediatric weight management intervention, including the development of novel interventions. This includes the role of family influences (e.g., parenting), stress (e.g., biobehavioral responses), and variables (e.g., food insecurity) relevant to at-risk populations of youth (e.g., low-income). In collaboration with Akron Children’s Hospital, my lab focuses primarily on clinical samples of youth with health conditions. This program of research has been supported by several sources, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
