The country has been awaiting the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on two cases that would decide the fate of affirmative action in higher education and, as we expected, the court struck down affirmative action as we have known it.

The lawsuits – Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. President and Fellows of Harvard College and Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. University of North Carolina – challenged the use of race-conscious admissions practices by colleges and universities.

The 91²Ö¿â Board of Trustees approved resolutions that advance programs for students studying aeronautics during the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held June 28 on the Kent Campus.

91²Ö¿â is building on the legacy of May 4, 1970, and the mission of its School of Peace and Conflict Studies, when it joins forces with the University of Rwanda in July to help advance peace education across the globe.

Some of the nine 91²Ö¿â students who were studying at the Paris American Academy are returning home today, and others are expected to travel home tomorrow. A few are staying longer in Europe for various personal reasons.

91²Ö¿â’s Office of Global Education remains in contact with all the students to support their needs, including providing counseling services.  

Currently, none of the students are interested in speaking with the media.

An explosion occurred today in a building in Paris, France, that housed the Paris American Academy, where nine 91²Ö¿â students, plus faculty and staff are located. All 91²Ö¿â students have now been accounted for and are safe.

News reports indicate a gas leak may be to blame for a blast that sent more than two dozen people to the hospital. 

UPDATE: All nine 91²Ö¿â students at the American Academy in Paris are safe and have been accounted for. 

91²Ö¿â is aware of an explosion that happened today (Wednesday)  in Paris, France. The explosion occurred in the fifth arrondissement in the Latin Quarter on the Left Bank of the River Seine. 

During the four-day Air Race Classic, 91²Ö¿â alumna Laura Wilson and junior Peyton Turner will fly 2,400 miles and make nine timed flybys at airports in Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Alabama and Florida before landing in Homestead, Florida.
