The Environmental Science and Design Research Initiative (ESDRI) was excited to be able to offer competitively awarded seed grant funding to research teams in Spring Semester 2018. ESDRI was established in 2017 to support faculty efforts to achieve continued scholarly success in areas of research concerning both natural and built systems.
As the semester comes to a close, 91²Ö¿â is asking faculty and staff to reduce campus energy consumption over winter break (Dec. 23-Jan. 2). As a result of collective efforts over the 2017 holiday break, the university avoided more than $25,000 in energy costs over nine days. The greenhouse gas emissions reduction was equal to taking more than 50 passenger vehicles off the road for one year.
91²Ö¿â's holiday closure for 2024 will begin Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, at 10:30 p.m. All offices will re-open on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025. Employees not eligible for the paid leave include student employees, classified temporary staff, temporary agency staff, short-term unclassified appointments, unclassified intermittent appointments and employees in a lay-off status. More information on the holiday schedule, including how employees should report time during that period, will be available later this month.
Testing Your Faith Act (H.B. 353) was enacted in the Spring 2023 semester. In ordinance with this bill, 91²Ö¿â created a new administrative policy for religious and spiritual accommodations. This administrative policy allows students to report up to three days of unexcused absences to participate in religious holidays or community-held events in alignment with their spirituality.
