Division of People, Culture and Belonging Launches HR Outreach Initiative

The Division of People, Culture and Belonging is excited to announce the launch of its HR Outreach Initiative, set to commence on Nov. 1, 2024. The Talent Management team will lead this effort and represent the division. This initiative will bring human resources closer to employees across the university, including our regional campuses. Through scheduled "office hoteling" arrangements, designated HR Partners will be onsite at various university locations, promoting accessibility and fostering stronger connections within the campus community.

Facilitating Communication and Support

In today’s dynamic work environment, HR Partners play a crucial role in addressing a wide array of questions and concerns for both employees and managers. On any given day, they may encounter inquiries such as:

  • Employee Relations: How can I effectively address a conflict with a colleague?

  • Onboarding and Training: What resources are available for new hires?

  • Performance Management: How do I provide constructive feedback to my team?

  • Benefits and Payroll: What options do I have for health benefits for my dependent turning 24?

  • Policy Clarification: What are the procedures for requesting leave?

By operating onsite, HR Partners can facilitate immediate responses to these inquiries, ensuring that both employees and managers feel supported and informed.

Benefits of HR Onsite

Having HR Partners onsite fosters a collaborative and responsive work environment. Key benefits include:

  • Stronger Relationships with HR: Proximity allows HR to build meaningful relationships with employees and management, enhancing trust and open communication.

  • Timely Support: Immediate access to HR for urgent matters promotes a quicker resolution to workplace challenges.

  • Tailored Resources: HR can provide customized guidance and resources that reflect the unique needs of each department, college, or unit.

This initiative directly supports Dr. Amoaba Gooden’s priority of creating a “Culture of Care” within the university, ensuring that every employee feels valued, supported, and connected to the institution.
