Undergraduate Preceptors
91²Ö¿â College of Nursing Undergraduate BSN students take the Integration of Leadership and Management in Nursing course in their senior semester. The course entails 120 hours of one-on-one experience with a professional Registered Nurse who has a minimum of twenty-four months experience. Additionally, the student participates in classes, lectures, testing, and online coursework, as overseen by the Course Coordinator and the Clinical Faculty.

The course objective is to provide students with the knowledge and skills for a beginning leadership position (team leader, module leader and primary nurse), applicable to the care of patients in a health care environment. This course provides students with opportunities to synthesize their nursing knowledge and collaborate with their clinical preceptor in preparation for their professional nursing role.
The clinical component includes 120 hours of practice partnered with a preceptor. The university and hospital faculty and staff make the preceptor/student assignments.
