Researchers from 91²Ö¿â's Liquid Crystal Institute, School of Fashion Design and Merchandising and College of Podiatric Medicine have teamed up to create a fabric that could ultimately save the feet of diabetics. Like mood rings, the fabric uses liquid crystals to change color when it detects a change in body temperature, due to an infection, swelling or poor circulation.
