Digital Skills Capacity Building in Africa Program

91²Ö¿â: The program has supported 16 countries in Africa to finalize detailed Digital Skills Country Action Plans to contribute to the target for digital skills of 6 percent of youths and adults acquiring advanced digital skills by 2030. The technical assistance covered 1) the development of a detailed guidebook to help assess demand, set goals, plan for different strategies, identify indicators, and undertake costing; (2) planning and costing templates; (3) workshops to launch the plan preparation in selected countries; and (4) demand study for digital skills in Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Rwanda, jointly funded with IFC.  Materials are available in English and French.  Materials in Portuguese will be uploaded soon.

Impact: The Country Action Plan initiative has enabled WBG teams to become familiar with the concept of digital skills and understand the programmatic interventions that are required in tertiary education, and enabled Mozambique, Rwanda, and Ethiopia to begin the process of developing draft plans which can serve as examples to other countries.
