Morgan Startup Grants: Launch and Scale-Up

Thanks to generous support from Burton D. Morgan Foundation, LaunchNET is offering funding via Morgan Startup Grants to help 91²Ö¿â student entrepreneurs move their businesses forward and reach their goals. This year we will be featuring a Launch Morgan Startup Grant and a Scale-Up Morgan Startup Grant. 

 

Launch Morgan Startup Grant

Launch Morgan Startup Grants are awards of up to $500 to support current 91²Ö¿â students in the idea or pre-revenue phase of their ventures. This funding is available to support inventory, business registration, capital, product, manufacturing, legal services, market research, web design, concept testing/development, and other related services. 

 

Scale-Up Morgan Startup Grant

Scale-Up Morgan Startup Grants are awards of up to $1,250 to support current 91²Ö¿â students in the revenue generating phase of their ventures. This funding is available to support inventory, capital, product, manufacturing, legal services, market research, web design, concept testing/development, and other related services.

Frequently Asked Questions

Eligibility
  • Must be a current 91²Ö¿â student (undergraduate or graduate)
  • The business idea or product that the venture is focused around MUST be inspired and/or made/produced by the founder (applicant)
  • Business ideas and products CANNOT be part of another business (multi-level or pyramid model, franchise, etc.)
Timeframe

Applications for the Fall 2024 semester are due by September 13, 2024. They will be reviewed and awarded in the order they are received until funding runs out. We are unable to provide notice of the depletion of the fund and encourage early applications.  

How Funds are Awarded and Used

This funding is used to support ventures to reach on-going business goals. This can include such support as additional inventory, equipment, product, manufacturing, legal services, web design and other related services. Applications should be clear in how this Morgan Startup Grant will move their venture goals forward.  

Award Recipient Commitments
  • Recipients must complete at least two venture meetings with LaunchNET (an initial meeting at time of award and a 30 day check-in scheduled at time of award)
  • Completion of post-award survey
  • Completion of LaunchNET intake form if not current client
  • Participation on November 21, 2024 from 4-6pm in the showcase event in Design Innovation Hub
  • One LinkedIn post about award and/or business progress with LaunchNET 91²Ö¿â and Burton D. Morgan Foundation tagged along with #MorganStartupGrant2024 and #NEOLaunchNET
Fund Distribution

Morgan Startup Grants will be distributed through the 91²Ö¿â scholarship system. A banner id is required to complete the process.
