Nagasaki, Japan
Nagasaki, a city located in southwest Japan, has approximately 450,000 people. It is widely known for its history of World War II, and many of the attractions found there are related to the city's history. Nagasaki is also famous for its offshore islands, volcanoes, and hot springs, as well as its great street food and local specialties. An interesting fact most people don't know about is that the city is highly influenced by the Dutch culture, which can be explored at Huis Ten Bosch, an open-air museum with replicated medieval buildings from the Dutch Golden Era. The city has many other interesting places to spend the day, such as the Penguin aquarium, the Oura Cathedral, and the Prefectural Art Museum, not to mention the beautiful islands, mountains, and festivals!
