Valerie Rutherford
Biography
Valerie Rutherford is the Counseling Specialist at 91²Ö¿â Geauga Campus. She is an independently licensed, master’s level clinician who has been practicing in the field of mental health since 2004. She earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology in 1999 and a Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2004. Throughout her career, she has provided clinical counseling and clinical supervision in several inpatient and outpatient settings. Valerie has extensive training and experience working with people struggling with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, coping, substance abuse and trauma. In addition to her master’s level education, she has received specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness and Solution Focused Brief Therapy, which is particularly effective for helping people overcome these issues.
