Emergency Guide

The guide is a template for students, faculty, and staff's individual response to assist them in preparation for large scale emergencies.

Care Team

91²Ö¿â's Care Teams are cross-divisional crisis management committees that collaboratively assess and coordinate a response to students identified as reasonably posing a potential threat to self or others.  The CARE Team at 91²Ö¿â at Geauga exists to gather isolated concerns in one location to be examined as possible patterns of behavior and to coordinate a supportive, positive outreach toward students with concerning behavior when appropriate.  The cross-functional team prefers to take a proactive approach, focusing on early interventions toward distressing student behavior to change the behavior before the situation escalates.

Emergency Management

Emergency Management Services works closely with the academic community to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to and recover from the vulnerabilities to hazards or disasters that may affect the university. Through multiple modes of safety education, such as conducting training exercises, routine drills and equipment tests throughout the year, the division is better able to deal with the unforeseen challenges inherent in an actual emergency.

The University's student conduct-related goals are: to provide students with due process; to make students aware of and able to reasonably navigate through the conduct process; to have students accept responsibility for their actions when it is warranted; and to apply sanctions designed to assist students in their pursuit of excellence in both the classroom and the community.

Anti-Racism Resources

At 91²Ö¿â, our core values of respect and kindness for all demand that we step up to become part of the conversation that leads to a solution that will dismantle the systemic racism that has plagued our communities throughout history, and our university all too recently.

OFFICE OF GENDER EQUITY & TITLE IX

Title IX of the federal Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination on the basis of a person's gender in educational programs or activities operated by recipients of federal funding, such as 91²Ö¿â. While it is often thought of as a law that applies only to athletic programs, Title IX is much broader and protects all students, employees and visitors to campus from gender discrimination.

Off-Site Location and Trip Reporting Form

For annual Clery reporting purposes, the 91²Ö¿â must collect crime statistics for those areas the university owns or controls.  Department representatives must complete this form for any university-sponsored trips, programs, or activities conducted at an off-campus site that include students, regardless of whether an incident occurred at the site.  Student teaching, medical practicums, and College Credit Plus (CCP) programs do NOT need to be reported unless an agreement exists between 91²Ö¿â and the site for a specific space at the site controlled by 91²Ö¿â.
