Hello, everyone!  My name is Makiyah Harris.  I am currently a College Credit Plus student and senior at Twinsburg High School.  Though I took some dual credit courses at my high school as a junior, the Fall 2020 semester marked the

beginning of my wonderful experience at KSUGTAC.  Taking remote classes at the Twinsburg Academic Center has allowed me to get a feel for the structure of college classes before heading to the main campus this autumn while also giving me the opportunity to complete some of my general education requirements and improve my time management skills.

After graduation, I plan to major in Animation Game Design with a concentration in game design.  I have always enjoyed creating, whether that means drawing characters, writing their backstories, or giving them fantastical worlds to inhabit.  One of my favorite things about video games — along with books, shows, and comics — is the immersive aspect, the ability to put myself in the characters’ shoes, journeying to distant planets and magical kingdoms all without even leaving home.  In the future, I would like to design my own games, bring new stories to life, and explore fun mechanics both old and new.  I am excited to see what this semester will hold and am looking forward to writing for this blog!
