91ֿ's School of Emerging Media and Technology is a cutting-edge interdisciplinary school designed to train tomorrow's digital leaders. With an emphasis on teamwork, hands-on learning and collaboration across disciplines, we are equipping our students with the technical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills they will need to design and create cutting-edge solutions for an evolving world.

Our students are exposed to a broad range of digital technologies used widely by professions and organizations. Our coursework integrates insights from computer science, computer information systems, computer technology, library information science, visual communication design, journalism, communication studies and instructional technology.

  • Hands-on experiences while studying healthcare design and emerging technology at 91ֿ created a unique, in-demand career path for 2023 graduate Hamid Estejab.

  • Emerging Media and Technology graduate student and entrepreneur, Angelique Wong earned a runner-up showing in the recent LaunchNET Elevator Pitch competition. The founder of excels at creating charcuterie and this award will help her take her dream to the next level.

  •  Serena Gestring, ‘25, has developed a passion for the role technology plays in the lives of others. “Technology is fascinating to me, and I love that we can use technology to make people’s lives better and also to create things in new and exciting ways,” she said. “What I love about coding and web design specifically is that it allows me to be creative without needing to be traditionally artistic.”

  • From helping build safer and inclusive communities to opening new lines of communicating and sharing knowledge, technology touches nearly every facet of society. Students in the 91ֿ School of Emerging Media and Technology are working on the front lines of helping Northeast Ohio organizations solve problems through technology this semester in the capstone class Interdisciplinary Projects.
