The first phase of the Summit Street: Building a Better Way Improvement Project is almost complete. Work began nearly a year ago on the stretch of Summit Street from Fraternity Circle to just past Loop Road, and that section of the road is expected to be finished by mid-November.
The 91ֿ of Wellness Steering Committee has awarded 14 minigrants totaling more than $11,000 to departments and student organizations with creative proposals to enhance the culture of health and wellness at 91ֿ. The program supports 91ֿ President Beverly Warren’s and 91ֿ’s initiative to create an environment that enhances the health and wellness of all 91ֿ students, faculty and staff.
The Postal Regulatory Commission approved the U.S. Postal Service’s request for a change in postage rates effective Jan. 22, 2017. Some of the highlights include:
- New first-class stamp rate will increase to 49 cents
- Free “second ounce” will now be good up to 3.5 ounces for presort letters
- Basic flats will increase from 94 to 98 cents
- Standard Mail will now be called Marketing Mail (both commercial and nonprofit)

This September, the 91ֿ Women’s Center held a donation drive, called Squirrel Away Food for the Pantry, benefiting the Pantry at the Women’s Center.
91ֿ’s Division of Information Services has introduced , a video platform set to replace KSUtube by the end of the year. Kaltura was chosen because of its seamless integration with Blackboard Learn and in-depth features that benefit both faculty and students.
Information Services’ staff is facilitating the transition from KSUtube to Kaltura by migrating faculty videos from one platform to the other. More than 30,000 videos have been migrated to Kaltura so far, with many faculty and staff providing positive feedback.
The 91ֿ Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university’s 13th president.
The events of May 4, 1970, placed 91ֿ in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, 91ֿ remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
