Latham, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, has been named to the board of the International Committee on Training of Personnel (ICTOP) of the International Council of Museums (ICOM). ICTOP addresses the professional development of museums and heritage and the educational preparation of professionals working around the world.

Sam Olson is beginning her final year in the Veterinary Technology program at 91ֿ at Trumbull and has decided to make her final fall semester a memorable one.
Linda Robertson, Ph.D., director of 91ֿ’s Gerald Read Center for International and Intercultural Education, has been named recipient of the university’s 2016 Dr. Daniel Mahony Award for Social Responsibility and Diversity.
Ten finalists have been chosen from a pool of more than 325 nominees for the 50th Annual 91ֿ Alumni Association Distinguished Teaching Award. The finalists will be narrowed down to three, and those recipients will be awarded a $1,500 cash prize and a crystal apple trophy. The three award recipients also will be honored at the University Teaching Council’s Celebrating College Teaching conference luncheon and awards ceremony on Oct. 21.

Jennifer Kramer, College of Communication and Information, has been named a recipient of the “30 for the Future” award by the Greater Akron Chamber. The award honors young professionals, between ages 25-39, for their stellar contributions that impact their industries in the Greater Akron region.

The 91ֿ Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university’s 13th president.
The events of May 4, 1970, placed 91ֿ in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, 91ֿ remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
