The School of Communication and Information congratulates its 2022-23 Scholarship recipients!
A reception was held for students, donors and families on Friday, April 8. The following scholarships were awarded:
Memorial Fund in Communication Studies: Lauren Donnella
This scholarship is awarded to a student who exhibits strong scholarly effort and/or service.
Rebecca and Alan Rubin Endowed Scholarship: Jenna Gilbreath
This scholarship is awarded to a student who exhibits strong academic performance, motivation, character, ability, and potential.
Dr. Dominic A. Infante Communication Scholarship: Abigail Gore
This scholarship is awarded to a student for their second year of communication studies master's program who is on schedule for completing their master's degree and appears to be a good prospect for matriculating into a Ph.D. program.
School of Communication Studies Scholarship: Lillianna Difini, Thomas Haught, Isabella Palowitz
(Pictured: Isabella Palowitz) This scholarship is awarded to students in recognition of their academic achievement.
Arnold & Dorothy Danes Book Scholarship: Andrew Baumeier
This scholarship is a book award presented to a communication studies student who has demonstrated academic excellence and interest in being a citizen of the world through knowledge and action.
Garmon-Murvay Scholarship: Jaida Brownlee
The scholarship is awarded to a junior communication studies student who clearly demonstrates the importance of communication studies as a discipline and proves that the program has influenced their view of the world beyond Kent, Ohio.
Nancy E. Mitchell Endowed Scholarship: Marisa Santillo
This scholarship honors a junior with a sustained record of academic excellence, a consistent record of community service, and effective leadership.
Linda L. Moore Endowed Scholarship: Sophia Bednar
This scholarship honors a junior or senior with a sustained record of academic excellence, a record of community involvement and/or political advocacy, and demonstrates an understanding of the ways in which communication supports these efforts.
The Feezel Family Scholarship for Global Studies: Emma Lammermeier
This scholarship is awarded to a student interested in intercultural communication and are participating in a 91²Ö¿â sponsored study abroad program.
Michael Dubetz Endowed Scholarship: Jaelyn Brown
This scholarship is awarded to a student who exhibits strong leadership and personal achievement.
Rozell Duncan Endowed Scholarship: Sophia Kiriakou
This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior who has demonstrated commitment through their involvement in leadership and participation in activities specific to the School of Communication Studies.
