Hannah Dobbins Earns Radiation Therapy Scholarship

Hannah Dobbins

Hannah Dobbins, a senior studying radiation therapy at the 91²Ö¿â Salem Campus, recently was awarded a $5,000 scholarship from the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.

Dobbins, of Tallmadge, received the ASRT’s Varian Radiation Therapy Advancement Scholarship, made possible by a grant from Varian Medical Systems. The company is based in Palo Alto, Calif., and is a world leader in the design and manufacturing of equipment and software for treating cancer with radiation therapy.

An independent panel evaluates applications and assigns scores to each section of the application based on standardized criteria. The combined scores are ranked, and recipients are recommended to the Board of Trustees for final approval. All awards are based on a combination of academic/professional achievements, essay content, financial need and professional recommendation.

91²Ö¿â at Salem offers a bachelor’s degree in radiologic and imaging sciences, with four areas of concentration: radiation therapy, diagnostic medical sonography, magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography.
