Matthew Rollyson
Biography
Matt Rollyson, assistant dean in the College of Communication and Information, earned his BA in psychology from 91²Ö¿â and his MA in higher education administration from the University of Akron. He worked in crisis intervention and victim advocacy before joining KSU as an academic advisor in 2007, and he has been serving as assistant dean since 2013. In this role, he oversees strategic planning, implementation and assessment of undergraduate student services, including student persistence initiatives, academic advising, curriculum, career exploration and development, and the living-learning community. Matt advocates for empowering each student with access to individualized, outcome-based curricula, co-curricular experiences, and services. He has given presentations on various topics including defining and communicating the complementary roles of faculty mentors and academic advisors, removing curricular and policy barriers to student persistence, high-impact student experiences, developing a habit of excellence, and efficient business practices in student services.
