Features of the Online MBA Program

Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship students earning an MBA are expected to have developed skills in the following critical areas of business:

  1. Critical Thinking -  Analyze the elements of a business problem and construct well-reasoned solutions.
  2. Digital Technology – Employ appropriate tools in order to analyze business problems.
  3. Written Communication â€“ Write effective business communications.
  4. Oral Communication – Make effective business presentations, using appropriate technologies.
  5. Teamwork – Collaborate effectively with others to achieve a common business purpose.
  6. Business Ethics – Recognize ethical business dilemmas and use ethical decision making to resolve the dilemma
  7. Responsible Management – Analyze the complex issues confronting organizations and craft solutions to business problems that create long term value and shared prosperity for the broad array of stakeholders.
  8. Global Mindset – Distinguish and analyze the key global factors when making business decisions.

 

SUMMER COURSE OFFERINGS

A select number of core courses and electives are offered in the summer semester as well. Summer offerings can adjust from year to year. Finalized schedules are shared with admitted students as each semester approaches - spring, summer and fall. Electives are also offered in fall and spring semesters.
 


WEBINARS
 

There are five proficiency webinars required prior to taking specific courses in the curriculum. Each webinar is estimated to take eight hours to complete, depending on background. They must be completed before the start of the corresponding course and must be passed at the 75% rate or higher.

The webinar topics are in the following subject areas:

  • Accounting - completed prior to ACCT 63037
  • Spreadsheets - completed prior to ACCT 63037
  • Finance - completed prior to FIN 66060
  • Statistics - completed prior to MIS 64005
  • Economics - completed prior to the first Economics course taken, either ECON 62021 or ECON 62022


Cost of Webinars

There is a separate fee for the webinars which come in an 18-month subscription. The subscription is comparable in cost to that of books and supplies for one course.

  • With five start dates available, join us at a time that is convenient for you. We admit students to the Online MBA program each semester – spring, summer and fall. Students can also begin taking courses mid-semester in fall and spring semesters.
  • Courses are in 8-week modules – students can start the Online MBA program and always find beginning-level courses

*Earning the Business Analytics (BA) Certificate: The BA concentration requires three courses at 3-Credit hours each. Students in the BA concentration may apply for the and complete it by taking one extra Business Analytics course.

Study Abroad Opportunity Available for Online MBA Students
  • There is an option to participate in the Online MBA program’s study abroad course
  • This international course fulfills some of the program’s required elective credits

Prior Business-Related Degree Is Not Required

A bachelor’s degree is required for admission into the Online MBA program, but the degree does not need to be in business or from a business school

Busy Schedule? You Can Go at Your Own Pace with Our Courses
  • If you choose to participate in earning your MBA degree online at a full-time pace, it can be completed in as few as 12 months (however the option to spread courses out over a longer time period is also available)
  • Within these two timeframes, Online MBA courses may be completed at your own pace while adhering to your own schedule
Stackable Certificate Pathway to the Online MBA

Are you considering an MBA degree, but are not sure you want to take on a full degree program right now? Our stackable certificate pathway to the online MBA could be just right for you. Start by enrolling in either the Quantitative Business Management Certificate or the Leadership and Management Certificate. Both stand-alone certificates consist of five 2-credit courses, and each certificate is documented on an official university transcript.

Classes for each certificate are 100% online and have classes available in both Fall and Spring semesters. Please see the roadmap for each certificate to view the courses offered each semester. 

Complete just one certificate, stack it with the second certificate, then complete a set of capstone requirements and graduate with an MBA degree. This stackable pathway to the MBA lightens both application requirements and limitations on time to degree completion.
