Kent researchers examine ballroom dance's effect on Parkinson's

Two 91²Ö¿â professors are identifying the elements of ballroom dance to eventually develop an exercise intervention program that would help manage Parkinson's disease symptoms.

Dr. Angela Ridgel, an associate professor of exercise science and physiology, and Joan Meggitt, an associate professor of dance, teamed up for the joint research project, "Optimizing dance interventions for people with Parkinson's disease and healthy older adults," through the university's Brain Health Research Institute, which provided a near $10,000 initial seed grant.
