Katherine N. Richards
Biography
Katy Richards received her B.F.A. from The Cleveland Institute of Art and her M.F.A. from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Her paintings focus on the materially of paint and representation, and often deal with themes of life, death and desire. Her work as been exhibited in numerous group shows throughout Ohio such as A Painter’s Table, Waterloo Arts, Cleveland (2022), More is More: Visual Richness in Contemporary Art, Akron Art Museum, Akron (2021), Cake, River House Arts, Toledo (2019), Ohio, Kentucky, & Indiana: Regional Showcase, Manifest Gallery, Cincinnati (2019), Cleveland in Newark, Denison Art Space, Newark, OH (2018), as well as many others. She is represented by HEDGE Gallery in Cleveland Ohio, where she has had three solo shows, Fluid Depths (2017), See Myself Something Different (2020), and Pocket Full of Posies (2023). She is a 2017 recipient of the Individual Excellence Award from the Ohio Art Council. Richards attended the Vermont Studio Center residency in 2016. Her work is in the Progressive Art Collection, Cleveland Arts Association (CARTA), Dealer Tire, and many other private collections. Richards art studio is located at Waterloo Arts in Cleveland, and she teaches painting and drawing at 91²Ö¿â.
