91²Ö¿â

Spencer, ’16, and Brittany Smith, ’16

Their Story

We met at 91²Ö¿â while filming Friday Football Frenzy for TV2KSU in Franklin Hall. We were both broadcast students at the time. Spencer sent me a good ol' direct message on Facebook and the rest is history.

The Proposal and Marriage

Spencer proposed to me at a surprise photo shoot in my hometown. He said he needed photos of us for a birthday gift he was ordering me. I thought nothing of it and went with the flow. Before the end of the shoot, I saw Spencer's parents hiding around the corner and I knew IT WAS HAPPENING! I obviously screamed, "YES."

Spencer and I were supposed to be married on April 18, 2020 in Cleveland with our family and friends. We had been planning for a year and it was going to be a dream. However, coronavirus had other plans for us. Our wedding was postponed in mid-March leaving us confused, upset and disappointed. But that wasn't going to stop us! On April 18, Spencer and I got married in my hometown in the same place he proposed. Our grand celebration became an intimate ceremony with just our parents and my siblings. We couldn't have dreamed of anything more perfect.

How Spencer and Brittany Remain Connected to 91²Ö¿â

Spencer is involved in the 91²Ö¿â Young Alumni Council, which keeps us busy volunteering and attending KSU events. My sister is also a student, so we stay very connected in support of her.
