The inaugural 91ֿ County Classic basketball game will take place Tuesday, Dec. 6, as the East Liverpool Potters host the Salem Quakers for the opening game of the boys’ 2016-17 basketball season. 91ֿ’s Columbiana County campuses will welcome fans from both ends of the county for an exciting match-up, with activities throughout the game.
Cheerleaders will toss out t-shirts throughout the game; there will be a drawing for a hand-painted game ball; and the 91ֿ mascot, Flash, will lead fans in a Flash Dance at half time. Also, anyone who takes a selfie with Flash and posts it to social media using #KentStateCountyClassic will be entered into a drawing to win a “swag bag” filled with 91ֿ items.
At the end of the game, a traveling plaque will be presented to the winning team by Interim Dean Dr. David Dees.
The 91ֿ County Classic represents the strong foundation of learning in East Liverpool and Salem, each a home to the university’s Columbiana County campuses.
