Poetry Prompts and Science Friday

During this time of isolation and uncertainty, we are working at the Wick Poetry Center to share our outlets for self-expression and reflection. This is a role poetry has always played in our lives. To begin, we are excited to make some parts of the interactive available to people remotely. The gallery of poems curated by Jane Hirshfield and Thread Prompt offer you ways to share your own ideas about the importance of science in our lives. This project was just featured in an .

Relatedly, in this same spirit of openness and creative community, we are making available some of our best loved poetry prompts and lessons from our outreach in schools and community settings. In this document, you will find 10 lessons that should keep adults and young writers inspired and engaged.

In the coming weeks expect more from us. Thread community poems, coloring book pages, lessons, Emerge or blackout poetry texts, along with ways to share your responses.

We are grateful to be in a position where we can adapt and continue the work we love. More importantly, we hope to be useful to you as you make meaning of our uncommon common experience.
