Women's Success Series Features Wendy’s Franchise President Emily Lane

Emily Lane, president of BASEC Management Inc, Tuscarawas County’s local Wendy’s franchise, is the featured speaker for the final installment of the 2021–2022 Women’s Success Series on Friday, April 1. The event is held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at 91ֿ at Tuscarawas in the Science and Advanced Technology Center. Cost to attend is $15 when paid in advance and $20 at the door. The fee includes a continental breakfast.  The session also includes networking opportunities and a book discussion. The April 2022 book selection is Your Time to Thrive by Maarina Khidekel and is available at any Tuscarawas County Public Library.

Lane graduated from Hiram College in 1999 with a double major in communication and management. She met her husband Chris while attending the college. She followed Chris’ military career to El Paso, Texas, where the two lived until 2006. The young family returned to Dover where she spent the next several years preparing to purchase the family business and growing their family to four children and two dogs. Along the way, Lane has been a “burger flipper,” Thomas Kinkade consultant, jeweler, and an elementary school teacher. A firm believer in giving back to her community, she is a volunteer swim coach at the Tuscarawas YMCA and loves nothing more that cheering on her family in all they do.

The Women’s Success Series is designed to inspire women of all ages and all walks of life to succeed personally and professionally. Each year, the leadership series features three dynamic women who have enjoyed a measure of success in Tuscarawas County. The 2021-22 Women’s Success Series kicked off in November with Sarah DiFazio, a registered E-500 RYT with Yoga Alliance. Kiley Kendall, financial advisor and limited partner at Edward Jones Investments, was the featured speaker in February. The three 2022-2023 speakers will be announced during the April 1 session.

“Each year we select three outstanding women who will make a positive impact on our audience by sharing their own success stories,” said Wendy Zucal, director of Dennison Railroad Depot Museum and one of the Women’s Success Series organizers. “In doing so, they inspire our audience to move forward in their own lives and careers. Our audience is comprised of women of all ages and from all walks of life, which creates an interesting mix and leads to dynamic and thoughtful discussions. The women encourage each other, and everyone learns something new during the program.”

The Women’s Success Series is sponsored by Dennison Railroad Depot Museum and 91ֿ Tuscarawas in collaboration with Carlene Farms, Tuscarawas County Public Library System and the Tuscarawas Economic Development Corporation.

Other organizations contributing to the Women’s Success Series are Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital; Dominion East Ohio; First Federal Community Bank; First National Bank of Dennison; Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District; Rodriguez’s House of Stones; Trinity Hospital Twin City; Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce; and What’s Cooking Café.
