Engineering technology students at 91ֿ at Tuscarawas now have access to new state-of-the-art portable electronic equipment.
The high-tech equipment was purchased through the Governor’s Office of Appalachia (GOA) and the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Workforce Development Grant for $182,000 with funding from Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association (OMEGA), Tuscarawas County Commissioners, 91ֿ, Buckeye Career Center, OhioMeansJobs, Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce, and the Tuscarawas County Foundation. Funding for this project is part of the over one million dollars raised through the Multi-County Advanced Manufacturing Corridor project for workforce development.
“The purpose of this project is to enhance 91ֿ’s ability to provide relevant technical education to aid in achieving advanced manufacturing training,” said Paul Dykshoorn, director of the engineering technology department at 91ֿ Tuscarawas.
At the Tuscarawas Campus, students have the opportunity to pursue the Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology and the College of Applied and Technical Studies Associate of Applied Science degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology – which is also offered at the Trumbull Campus.
