In-House Bookkeeper/Payroll Specialist - Full-time
Dover, OH
Responsibilities
- Process weekly/biweekly payroll using ADP software or comparable software
- Prepare bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations
- Understanding how payroll preparation and monthly transaction entry relates to the general ledger
- Reviewing accounts for appropriate postings
- Assisting clients with accounting, payroll and basic software issues
- Preparing quarterly and year-end payroll tax returns including any payroll notices
- Potential to assist tax/audit departments as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of general accounting concepts
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Outlook
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of firm and client information
- Data entry skills and high attention to detail
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Client service oriented
- Able to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work well with others and learn from them also
- Maintain a positive attitude
- Willing to adapt to continuous process improvement and changes in technology
Requirements
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required
- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or comparable accounting and bookkeeping experience
preferred - Experience with QuickBooks preferred. QuickBooks certified preferred.
