Dr. David Hacker, Local Professor and National Expert on Structural Geology, Will Give Free Lecture Tuesday at 91²Ö¿â Trumbull

On Tuesday, April 25, 91²Ö¿â Alumni Association (KSUAA) and 91²Ö¿â at Trumbull will host a public lecture on â€œCatastrophic Landslides in Volcanic Terrains,"  by Dr. David Hacker, associate professor, Department of Geology, 91²Ö¿â at Trumbull.
 
Hacker is nationally known for his research and expertise in structural geology. He authored "Earth’s Natural Hazards: Understanding Natural Disasters and Catastrophes," one of the standard textbooks in the field. His article on volcanic mega-landslides in , the top-ranked international journal in geoscience, drew coverage from Smithsonian Magazine, , and Science Magazine.
 
Last year, Dr. Hacker won the  for best publication from a state geological survey and the . In 2015, he received . 
 
The lecture, which is part of KSUAA's Faculty Lecture Series begins at 6 p.m. and will be held in room 149 in the Classroom/Administration Building, 91²Ö¿â Trumbull, 4314 Mahoning Ave. N.W. in Warren. Light refreshments will be served.
