Black Box Series presents Lauren Gunderson's "Natural Shocks" January 29 & 30

Each semester, the School of Theatre and Dance's Black Box Series presents a collection of student produced works. These productions are provide students with opportunities to direct, write, perform, stage manage, and design existing and original works in a laboratory environment. Due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the 2020-2021 Black Box Series is being presented virtually.

On January 29 and 30, 2021, the Black Box Series will present a pre-recorded prduction of Lauren Gunderson's Natural Shocks. Directed by School of Theatre and Dance student Erin Ripley, Natural Shocks is one woman's exploration of violence, abuse, and firearms in America while she waits out an approaching storm. Originally written as a one-woman show, the cast of five each developed their own interpretation of the character and chose variations of the name Angela.

Natural Shocks features Taylor Fox, Kirstin Henry, Megan Polk, Sunayna Smith, and Elaine Werren. The production is stage managed by Kelly Harper. Video editing is by KG. 

Content Advisory: Script contains strong language and references to domestic abuse, gun violence, mass shootings, and mental health issues.
