91ֿ at Stark is partnering with the UNCHAINED Fashion Team from Columbus, Ohio, to bring awareness to human trafficking, one of the world’s fastest-growing illegal enterprises. The UNCHAINED Fashion Show will take place on Monday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. in the 91ֿ Stark Conference Center, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township. The event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
The narrated fashion show relays the story of human trafficking through the eyes and stages of a victim: from innocence to violation to restoration. Former Project Runway designer Korto Momolu provided the clothing collection for the show. Her elegant and expressive designs will transform 20 91ֿ Stark student volunteer models.
“The goal of the show is for the Canton community to be aware that human trafficking is modern-day slavery and they can be part of the solution by educating themselves and becoming advocates for ending this crime,” says Stephanie Catani, UNCHAINED’s creative director and co-producer, along with Administrative Director Felicia Kalan. “By using fashion, we hope to tell the untold stories that will change the lives of those in attendance, help prevent future trafficking and ignite others to take a stand.”
