NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATORS CONFERENCE AGENDA | |
---|---|
8:30 - 9 a.m. | Registration | Breakfast | Networking |
9 a.m. - Noon | Search Techniques that Bring Results | Katherine Burik, Facilitator Help wanted signs and Internet job boards are no longer the ideal hiring strategy. Too reactive, these strategies keep churning up the same candidates looking for a job. The modern social media world demands a proactive approach to hiring! If your main method of recruiting is still placing advertisements on career boards or your have too much paperwork or other responsibilities to focus on recruiting then you probably react rather than plan. You are not alone. In this session we explore recruiting from a different, more proactive angle using social media techniques that find your ideal candidates where they congregate. |
Noon - 1 p.m. | Lunch |
1 - 4 p.m. | Laughter and Luck | Kay Potetz, Ph.D., Facilitator Laughter plays a critical role in our lives and there exists scientific evidence that it produces specific physiological benefits, i.e., we feel better, endorphins are produced, it eases stress and yes, it even creates good luck. Research done in the psychology department at the University of Hertfordshire in England has concluded that good luck is much more than kismet, coincidence or good karma. Being positive and finding humorous aspects in life's situations are directly related to attracting good fortune and creating luck. Our ability to find humor and laughter in otherwise impossible situations is directly correlated to the selective perception process employed in our everyday lives. Reality is neutral; therefore we can find the positive or negative aspects of our every experience. The decision is ours. |
The Nursing Home Administrators Conference cost is $195 per person. To register, contact Mona Zink at 330-244-3508 or mzink@kent.edu.
