Every person affected by sexual or relationship violence heals from the pain and trauma of what happened in different ways. The Center for Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services has worked to increase opportunities for survivors to find peer support, to express themselves through the arts and to gain a greater awareness of self through meditation and relaxation techniques.
This fall SRVSS will continue to provide the Sexual Assault Survivors and Healing from Abuse support groups on Tuesday nights. Support groups will begin September 10, 2019. To complement the support groups, once a month SRVSS will continue the More than Words: Healing through the Arts series as well as Titanium Tulips, a series for self-care through meditation and relaxation techniques. SRVSS continues to connect survivors with counseling services both on-campus and in the community.
In addition to its healing-based initiatives, SRVSS is growing its emergency fund to help survivors with financial needs that may impact their success and retention at 91²Ö¿â. Anyone donating to 91²Ö¿â can designate their support for the SRVSS emergency fund.
