Dear Members of the 91²Ö¿â Community,
I am pleased to announce that Eboni Pringle, Ph.D., will be named senior vice president for student life, effective Dec. 1. This title change recognizes her leadership strengths and accomplishments since assuming the position on an interim basis in August 2023 and provides stability for the division through a period of significant change for higher education as well as 91²Ö¿â.
I feel it is important that the Division of Student Life has strong and permanent leadership in place as it focuses on student well-being in tumultuous times, fills the critical role of the dean of students and addresses key operational issues for the university’s future. Additionally, this move will save the time and expense of a national senior-level search process. The division is one of the university’s largest, mission-critical units, with 364 staff members, 1,285 student employees and a $96 million budget. The division provides a wide range of support services for student well-being and engagement; university housing, culinary and health services; recreation and wellness; and other key operations.
What I and others with whom I have consulted find most compelling about Dr. Pringle’s leadership is her laser focus on student success and well-being and her tireless and empathetic outreach to individuals and groups, both internally and externally. During more than a decade as dean of University College, Dr. Pringle distinguished herself as a nationally recognized leader in student success. She brought her well-honed leadership skills and unwavering students-first commitment to the division during what has been a challenging time for many in our community. In my view, she has been extremely effective and proactive in working with students, parents, faculty, staff, and external organizations and individuals to address their needs, concerns and aspirations for 91²Ö¿â.
Please join me in thanking Dr. Pringle for her outstanding service and dedication to 91²Ö¿â.
Sincerely,
Todd Diacon
President
